Hi all, I have a question that I think someone in this forum may help.

I sent in my application for CEC a month ago and I had just got my AOR one week ago. Within my application, my wife's police certificate will expire by end of July this year. So the question is, shall I apply for a new police certificate and send it to CIC right away (but they said in the AOR letter that "Please do not forward additional documents unless requested."), or wait until they ask and send it it? Or maybe they would not need a new one once they issued me the AOR? Please advise and share your experience if you can ... thank you so much.

Apply for your wife's PCC now and when you get it just wait, if CIC will ask for it later. If no, OK, if yes, you get time (usually 30 or 60 days) to provide it. This way you save time because you'll be able to send the PCC immediately.

I'm not sure what you mean. CIC doesn't care about expiry dates indicated by other countries. They make their own rules. Those are:
1) PCCs cannot be more than 3 months old at the time of application,
2) PCCs are generally considered valid for 1 year by CIC.

So since you applied 1 month ago (April X?), your wife's PCC must not have been issued more than 3 month before that (not before January X) to be valid.

If it was valid when you submitted it, it will not expire in July. If it was not valid when you submitted it, then yes, you should get a new one as CIC will likely ask for a new one.
