Hi all,

I'm almost done filling in all the forms and providing the supporting documents.

May I know when do I submit the police certificate / Certificate of No Criminal Conviction (CNCC) (I trust these are the same?)? Do I need to submit my application package to canada first then get a letter back requesting me to approach police to obtain a certificate?

  • Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will send you a letter requesting a police certificate after you send us your application if a Hong Kong police certificate is required.
When do I need to provide the 'Request for police certificates / clearances and authorization for release of information'?

I trust the same applies for medical check, biometrics and police certificates? I will need to wait for their reply first before obtaining these as well?

Thanks!

Timing of police check varies by country, some countries will not issue without eg the IRCC request letter. In other countries you get up front because no request letter needed.

So you need to confirm yourself by checking against the country specific requirements.

Medical and biometrics requests come later for all applicants. (Those who have already given bio for eg TRV may not need to provide again. Ircc will request when needed. )
