I recently had my application returned and because it occurred after the new rules for advance police certs, I got one of the checklists in the application listing what needed to be included. I have schedule A done for myself and my daughter (she is 20 years old and remaining in the US). I'm getting my police cert currently and on the checklist from the CIC, they checked that I had to have a schedule A for her, but did not mark to include a police certificate. However, on the document checklist, it says that the PA and any family members 18 or older have to have one. The description on the CIC website says "accompanying members." I'm just a bit confused, and don't want to have the app returned yet again, since I had to wait 2 months last time even to get it back and that's a lot of wasted time. Anyone have a definitive answer on this? Thanks!

I will advice that you do according to the recent version of the spousal sponsorship checklist........your daughter is over 18 years and should provide PCC.....so according to the 2018 version of the checklist you will need PCC for the PA and your daughter......do as requested by checklist and not whats on the website.

You (the principal applicant), and any family members 18 or older (who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents), must submit police
certificates from the following country or countries at this time, unless indicated otherwise on the police certificate webpage:

The country where you (or they) currently live, if you have lived there for six months or more; and
The country where you (or they) have spent most of your (their) life since the age of 18.
