Points for Age

Dear members
My application for PR under FSW was received by CIO Nova Scotia on 1st June, 2009, initial approval from CIO: July 14 2009. Now I will send complete application in October, 09 to New Delhi. My birth date is August 20. Can any member give information whether my points for age will be considered from initial date of application to NS (June 09) or date of application to New Delhi (Oct 09).

According to the application guide (EG7.pdf) from cic.gc.ca, "Points are given for your age at the time your application is received". It doesnt mention whether it is recieved by CIO or by the local visa office. But I guess it must be the full application at the local visa office, because CIO doesnt concern itself about points at all.

If you are between age 21 and 49, u will recieve full points (10). My suggestion - prepare for the worst case scenario. That is, if you have surpassed 49 on Aug 20, then consider your age to be 50. Try to add up some more points thru other means (education/french language proficiency etc.)
