I have a question about the PoF for PR via EE, and EE in general too.
I have successfully interviewed for tenure-track position as a university professor in Canada and waiting for the initial contract offer. I am residing in Australia (and hold Australian citizenship). The university will assist with immigration; I have requested a PR application via express entry as part of the negotiations.
I am already gathering documentation I need to create my EE profile. I have booked language tests and sent my ECA documents to WES. I am looking at all I will need to provide after a potential ITA and I am a bit confused by all I read when it comes to PoF.
Do I need it with a valid job offer (I seem to understand valid job offer means LMIA supported, or LMIA exempt, which should be fine)? The CIC website suggests that you are exempt with a valid job offer but the wording seems to suggest you also need to be currently authorised to work in Canada:
"If you are invited to apply under the Federal Skilled Worker Program or Federal Skilled Trades Program, you will need to show that you meet the settlement funds requirement unless you:
I am really confused. Surely, some have been too, and others may even have answers. I would really appreciate any insights, guys.
And if anyone has had to apply for PR via EE for an academic position, I would love to hear about your experience!
