Hello,

I see this in CIC

You do not have to show that you have these funds if:
- you have a valid offer of arranged employment in Canada AND
- you are currently working or authorized to work in Canada.

I am just worried by looking the rejections for various reasons including POF.

My questions are:
1. I am working since 3 months and having a regular pay. Do I required to show any other support doc for POF other than a bank statement showing the total amount in the bank.
2. Do I need to cross the fund required at the time of submission of application.

Thanks in advance

POF is always tricky! I would suggest that you include your pay stubs and since you are working since 3 months, it wouldn't harm if you include all your pay stubs during this period. Any other documents to proof a use of any part of the fund (e.g. car purchase), included it to support your bank statement. It might worth asking your bank for a letter as well.... Also, check what you got in the document checklist under the proof of fund field.

If you got those additional 600 points for having an LMIA supported job offer, you're excepted from POF requirements.

Nope, you aren't always exempt from this. I have a job in Canada, have an LMIA job offer, got the 600 points, and was still asked to provide PoF. This happened to 5 other people I know. No idea why since the website clearly states that we shouldn't have to show it. I was really irritated that it showed up in my document list and it caused me to delay turning my application by 3 weeks.
My advice for people is get the letters from their banks and be prepared to print out statements for the last 6 months just in case it's asked for on the document list.

Did this happen despite you stating Zero funds availability?

I agree - I had the same thing, got 600 points and had this in my document list. I already included fund in the questionnaire the first time I filled up my profile as I didn't know that I can put 0!

For me, no, but for 2 other yes. Once I got the PoF funds I mentioned it to the others and they checked in with the company's HR and they were told to try the 0 funds approach. It didn't work for them. Not sure what the others tried.
However, one thing I don't know if it has since changed, was that when I got the PoF request, it didn't just ask for the funds listed on the CIC website. I got one asking for PoF and it speficially stated I needed to show my complete financial portfolio to include all bank accounts and investments. When I ran this by HR, they checked in with the lawyers who said I should show all accounts and not just the minimum needed, just to be safe. They were baffled as to why all of us were getting asked to show PoF.
So, I had to check in with 4 different banks to get my info and 3 wouldn't do what the CIC asked for in their explaination of PoF letters. Ironically, RBC Canada wouldn't do it, but RBC America would! So, to be extra precautious, I included 6 months worth of statements along with the letter I got. The US banks won't list full account numbers and wouldn't list 6 month balanaces month by month. They were only willing to do a 6 month average, thus the included individual statements.
It's not hard to get the letters, usually just a phone call, but some banks take a few weeks to do them and send them out. One bank refused to email it to me and would only send it to my address on their file. That one took them 2 weeks to get it together and 1 week for the mail to get to me. So, I would recommend people just getting it done anyway once they get their ITA. Better safe than sorry.
