Dear all,

Am in the process of getting all the letters/affidavits ready for my proof of funds section of my application. Had the following queries -

  • I will be declaring one account in which my mom & dad are joint holders for the PR application which I'll be making along with my wife. Do I need some sort of affidavit/letter from them stating that all of it is indeed my money even though they are joint holders?
  • If yes, is there any format I need to follow which is available on the forum? I presume I also have to get it printed on a stamp paper and notarised?
  • There is yet another account which is held by my wife in her sole name. Given the fact that she's a co-applicant, would I require an affidavit from her as well stating that she has no problems with this money being used for PR acquisition purposes?
  • If yes, I presume that this would against need to be printed on a stamp paper and notarised?

Affidavit wont be of any use if the funds are not under your name. Consider this, if you go to your parents bank and show an affidavit, will the bank allow you to withdraw money? I gurantee they will not.

Cic wants the funds under the name of primary applicant or it could be joint with the coapplicant. You will probably have to transfer the funds to your account and than make a gift deed/affidavit declaring the source of those funds.
