Hi!

Question:

I did IELTS in April 2014.
Applied for PNP Ontario under master stream in September 2014.
As cap for 2014 was reached my application would be processed in 2015.

As I know validity period of IELTS is 12 months.
The question is how to count these 12 months.

At time of application submission IELTS was 6 months old.

But what happens if province proceeds my file after April 2015?

Does it mean that my IELTS would not be valid any more or it does not matter since it was valid at the date of submission?

Thoughts? Experience?

THANKS!

The IELTS test validity period is usually 2 years, not 1.

They take into consideration the date your file was received. For instance: If you got your IELTS results in April 2014 and your file was RECEIVED in May 2015, it should be good as your results expires on April 2016.

For PNP Ontario it is 12 months.

From their website
"Note that IELTS or TEF tests will still need to be taken within 12 months of application submission"

From application guide
"The original score of your IELTS – General test with an overall minimum score of 7
or higher or TEF – with an overall minimum score of 5 or higher (obtained in the last
12 months preceding your application)
. "

I don't absolutely understand the first sentence if they mean before or after application.
Should be before as you cannot apply without submitting test results.

At the time of application test was valid ( 6 months old) but seems that when application would be proceeded test results would be more than 12 months old.

Trying to understand if it is might be a problem or everything is fine.

Thanks

As per current wording on website: "The proficiency test should have been obtained within the last 12 months of applying."

As results were valid when they received the application, you are fine.

oh I was unaware it last only 12 months for OPNP, my bad there.

If they confirmed they received your application between April 2014 and April 2015 then you should be fine.
