PNP Express and non Express Entry -difference

Hi guys,

I currently have a PNP Skilled Worker profile opened with 88 points. But I am not eligible for EE.

My thinking is the moment I get nomination, I will become eligible for Express Entry and proceed there, since the processing time for EE applications is around 3 months.

If I dont then the processing time outside of EE profile will be over 1 year. This makes me wonder why doesnt everyone do it? Surely with 600 points for nomination everyone becomes eligible?

Unless there is something that I dont know about?

If you applied under SI category, you won't be able to convert your application to EE. You have to withdraw your nomination if you got one and re-apply under EEBC if you wish to have the additional 600 points.

I dont mean changing the profile with PNP, but once I have the nomination I could then create an Express Entry profile, since the nomination would make me eligible and right now I am not.

Is that what you meant? I cant go to EE with my nomination? That would be a bummer, just because of the processing time.

If you are not eligible for Express Entry now, you are still not eligible for Express Entry after you receive nomination of Skills Immigration BC. Skills immigration is not valid for Express Entry.

Once you receive your skills immigration nomination, you need to file application to CIO in Sydney, NS, the processing time is 16 months.

You are free to travel as long as you have valid temporary resident visa/permit.
