PNP EE required or not?

Hi all,

My company have been discussing whether to apply for an LMIA or PNP (Ontario) nomination. After taking advise from an immigration lawyer they have decided to apply for a PNP nomination. My question is this. Is applying for PR with a PNP nomination still done the old way through CIC submitting paperwork or can they apply the nomination to my EE profile. I ask this because the lawyer says we wont be applying for CEC therefore EE does not apply. I was under the impression the only way to get PR was through EE. I am confused and really wished they had gone down the LMIA route.

Any advise would be great.

PNP for Ontario is still done the same old way through CIC once you get a nomination. This is because Ontario has not yet developed their PNP approach for express entry.

Thanks for the quick response. Any idea how long it may take? Am i right in saying around 17 months from when they receive the completed application.
