PNP/Common Law Application Advice

Hi Everyone,

I hope there are some of you that might be able to offer me some useful advice on my situation. I hope to submit a PNP application by the end of this month (Jan). My work permit runs out at the end of April. I hear that it takes roughly 3 months to receive the nomination cert (if you are granted that). Here is my situation...

If I apply for it now and in the event that I may be refused for whatever reason, it will be around the time of my current work permit will be due to expire therefore leaving me no time to submit another application.

However, come August 1st (3 months after my work permit expires) I will be eligible to lodge a common law application.

I'm thinking of lodging my pnp closer towards my work permit expiration date which will put me on an implied status therefore allowing me to work closer to August and if I am refused my PNP I will be eligible to apple under a different category (common law). I understand that I won't be granted a work permit right away after lodging a common law application but its the best back up plan I can think of at the moment.

Has anyone any suggestions on this??

Thanks in advance
