Hi fellas,

Is it true that entry via PNP requires additional funds of CAD 1500 in addition to the normal EE?
I'm sure I read that somewhere in the forum, can't recall where.
So, is it true?

Regards!!

Oh, thanks for the response. I hear talks about PNP minting money from the EE programme, how is that so?

I am not sure if i understood question correctly, but here is some info. If question is will u need to pay for PNP - Answer YES!

Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) will charge a non-refundable processing fee, payable with each nominee application. Employer/Job Offer Category: Employer Pre-Screen application: Free. Foreign Worker: $2000 (inside GTA), $1500 (outside GTA)

http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/OI_PNPQUESTIONS.html

The SINP will be implementing an application fee of $300.00 for the International Skilled Worker: Occupation In-Demand sub-category in 2017-18.

Thanks, that's precisely the info I was looking for.

So, there's a catch indeed, especially the $1500 fee. Now, are these fees levied on top of the normal EE $550 and $490 fees?

I see now why most people hope to be picked up straight from the EE pool alone.

Hey Xibalban,

Each province has their own PNP fees as well as requirements. For example, I paid $550 for British Columbia PNP. I got a nomination soon after applying.
As other people already said, there are more and less expensive programs out there. The Ontario fee seems outrageous. Manitoba, on the other hand, is not charging any fees (or at least was not charging a couple years ago).
What province are you planning to apply to?

Thanks for the response, and congrats on the nomination receipt.

I do not have any particular province in mind, as long as I get an ITA. Funds, on the other hand, does factor for me.
I'm a total newbie, and don't even have a registered EE profile. My signature sums it all :D.

Thanks again.

I agree with Marsia. I applied through SINP student subcategory and i did not need to pay fee to SINP

You can sometimes apply to the provincial nominee programs even without an Express Entry profile. I would say go through all provincial and territorial programs one by one and see where you would have the best chance at getting an ITA. Did you know there is such thing as a territorial nominee program as well? In case you would like to reside in the Yukon or Northwest Territories.
The requirements really differ a lot between provinces. For example, I lived in Manitoba for 6 years and never qualified for anything. That is despite the fact that Manitoba program is free and is generally regarded as easy to get in to. Then I moved to BC and got nominated right away, and BC is regarded as a more desirable place to live.
