I am planning to submit my application soon. My job title is in ministerial list but when I look at the NOC website, I do not perform most of these duties. My wife on the other hand has a job where the title is not in the ministerial list (it is found under another NOC code) but her duties are that of one of the job in the ministerial list. Do either one of us have a chance of getting accepted at the Sydney stage.

I am the IT manager at a company, but it is a small company and I do not perform most of the main duties ascribed under 0213.
My wife is a researcher at a university but 70% of her time is spent instructing students and running classes. She has a PhD.

Is it better for her to apply under 4121 or me under 0213 or perhaps, neither of us have a chance. I did have a third party consult a lawyer and a consultant who both said she has a better chance than I do of being accepted. I wanted to get other opinion.

I don't know if this will matter. I have 82 points on the point system (assuming I will get 8 points for IELTS). My wife has 67 points assuming she will get 8 points for IELTS. We are both confident of getting more than 8 points.
What is your opinion on who should be the principle applicant?
Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.

First: I read somewhere on this forum that the duties are actually more important than the job title.

Second: Why make it hard on yourself? Assess who is the best candidate to apply and go with that person.

Thanks Daan. This is the only hole in both of our application and hence, this would decide who is the best candidate to apply.
