Hi,

Hi All,

I would like to ask for a suggestion regrading my spouse visa. I will be married in India this February 2013. I am on a post graduate work permit valid till Feb 2015. I am working on NOC B type full time job in Toronto Canada. I would like to bring my wife to Canada along with me.

She has graduated and currently not working in India. Which would be the better option Visiting visa or open work permit.

As i am on post Graduate work permit will she be eligible to apply for Open work permit. Which would be the better option Visiting or open work permit.

Thanks in Advance...

Regards,
Dilanko

The Open Work Permit is definitely the best option. The visitor's visa seem to be more likely to be rejected.

Hi Amikety
I am interested in the last point you raised; that it is better to apply for open work permit instead of TRV for my spouse. Where should I apply for the open work permit, in Indian or in Canada? I have a post graduate work permit and a professional job (category A). If I apply for open work permit for my spouse, the officer can still say my spouse will not come back after her work permit expires. What do you think? Does it mean that if one is applying for open work permit, he/she does not have to prove ties to home country? Again, spouse will still need a visa to travel to Canada if the open work permit is approved. your answer will be appreciated.
