Hi. I am a Philippine Pharmacy Graduate. I am planning to take the Pharmacy Evaluating Exam of Canada. But for me to be able to be registered and work in Canada i have to pass the exam and acquire a visa.

as an internationally trained pharmacist, you have to go to Canada to take the Evaluating exam. after passing the Exam, you still need to enroll into their bridging program in one of their institutions and pass 2 more Qualifying exams for you to be able to practise the profession legally.

my question is, what type of visa should i apply so i can take the Evaluating exam in canada. and after that, should i apply again for another one for the studentship? or it would be much easier to apply for an immigrant visa as a skilled worker since i already have more than a year of experience? which would be faster to obtain an immigrant visa, a tourist visa or a student visa?

and does anyone know an immigration lawyer or consultant that i can ask for consultation free?

thank you guys! hope you can help me. it would be greatly appreciated... thank you...

Well they're not going to grant you a TRV for the purpose of taking a test. You're going to have to take the test while in Canada for some other reason. I suggest you try for a student visa and then take the test at some point during your studies.

hi thaiguy,

thank you for the reply. anyway, actually, before i can take the exam, i should send my documents first to Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada for evaluation... and if i passed the evaluation, i will then apply to take the exam. they will then send me a letter saying that i can sit for the exam, when and where it will be held.

then, that will be the time that ill apply for a visa in the embassy. upon application to the embassy, i will present the letter to them to let them know my purpose for going to canada. so, my question now is, what type of visa should i apply? will it increase my chances of getting whatever visa i apply on or is it enough proof? or i still need to convince them that i will just take the examination and i will go back as i finish my business there? because, as i have read a lot in this forum, this is the common problem that people are facing when applying for a visit or student or whatever visa they apply to.

hope you can still help me.. thank you...

Read carefully - THEY'RE NOT GOING TO GIVE YOU A VISA TO TAKE THE TEST.
