Happy new year all!!! I am glad we all made it alive thru 2012 and i wish each and everyone of us to get our pr soon. I applied since august 2012 and have been waiting to get AOR up till now nothing for me. I recently changed province after getting new job and i am now working as a full-timer. This is my 5th month of waiting for AOR and I am begining to give up. I recently sent out enquiries to receive Caips notes thru email. I am still not sure whether my application will be approved or rejected. My current work permit will end on august 17th 2013 and i wonder when to start the process of getting renewal thru LMO. i am still currently working under probation and probation ends march. i currently hold PGWP. can someone let me know when is the correct time to start extension of work permit protocol so that i won't be too late in applying, also how many years will they grant me the work permit if approved??? incase if my CEC get refused due to whatever reason, will i reapply again thru positive LMO work permit since i am now working full time??? can someone give me a link for the LMO to submit to my employer?? i will appreciate all responses. Thanks all.

hi Ujbaby , are you aware of this: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2012/ob485.asp

but you are missing your AOR as one of those conditions for the new bridge open work permit. I will say if by march 1st you have not received your AOR, apply to renew your working permit via the LMO stream.

They won't extend your PGWP. If you obtain an LMO, you will get a temporary work permit (TWP), it is a closed work permit (employer and position-specific). The LMO would specify the duration of employment as requested by your employer (It would generally be for the length of your employment contract (whether 1, 2 or 3 years)).

Thanks Jes_ON and happy new year, does it mean that they will show recruitment effort?? incase if my CEC fails, do i qualify to obtain pr with this employer?? during the work permit process, will my employer specify the number of years that they need me to work for them?? I need suggestion as i am really depressed. i dont know whether this delay is due to my previous pr refusals (not cec) or because i am applying with 2 dependant children without their father?? I currently works full time and pgwp expires in august this year. I acquired more than 1950hrs b4 applying and dont believe hrs will be an issue.

Siince you were originally hired on a PGWP, the employer does not need to show recruitment efforts.

You would need to assess your eligibility according to the criteria of whichever program you are interested in.

You apply for the work permit, not your employer. Your employer applies for the LMO (not you). Your employer needs to indicate the length of employment requested on the LMO application.

Your family situation is complicated and you should expect the processing time to be longer than usual. Still, it is a good ideal to stay informed of your options.

Hello guys, does anyone know about LMO renewal I had positive LMO from July 2007 and it was for two years, it will be expiring in July 2009 and I will like to get it renewed. Does anyone know the procedure or I have to send a new application for LMO approval. Did someone had a similar situation, I will like to seek some help. Please let me know. There are few questions as to where it ask if any efforts were made to hire Canadians? though my employer hasn't made it because I am there and they would like to keep me for another year, so I don't know what to fill out as I don't want to get negative LMO. any one's feedback highly appreciated!
Thank you and Good luck to you all:)

Hello Solankii

There is no renewal for LMO. Every time a new application shall be submitted. Your employer should go through the entire process of advertising again. But if your employer has a +ve LMO application with in last 2 years you may explore A-LMO(Processing time is only 2weeks for accelerated LMO).

Your employer has to apply for the LMO and has to demonstrate recruitment efforts.
