Hi,

I received the ITA under FSW and when I was single.

ITA received on July 17th, 2015
AOR - Sept 1, 2015.
Submitted Schedule A & RCMP Check - Oct 28th, 2015
Got married and updated CIC about change in status on Jan 19th, 2016.

I sent a CSE on Jan 7th and emailed following documents to CPC - Ottawa on Jan 19th, 2016:
1.) My Change of Status form
2.) Family info of my wife
3.) Marriage Certificate
4.) Marriage pictures
5.) PCC of my wife
6.) Upfront Medical of my wife
7.) My wife's education documents
8.) PR and Landing Fees ($1040)

I am in Canada and she is not. I have not been contacted by CIC since then. Based on the situation given, would anyone be able to guide me so as to what timeline I am looking here at.

My 6 months for processing EE would expire next month. Is there going to be additional time needed to process my file (considering that I have got all necessary documents of my wife ready and already submitted)??

What is the usual process for such cases? Will they open up a slot online in my profile to submit my wife's documents as well?

Someone (if in this situation or who knows), please advice and help.

Thanks.

I may be in a similar situation in near future. However, how come you emailed to CIC before they even requested anything from you? Did anyone suggest you on this?

As far as my knowledge, you need to raise a CSE (Which you did) and inform about the status change. Post this CIC will send a requirement listing of evidence required for spouse.

I may be wrong. Lets wait for seniors to respond.

Initially i sent a paper document to the Sydney, NS CPC. I mailed them the listed documents on Nov 27th, 2015 and they received it on Dec 4th, 2015 (as registered mail tracking shows). About month and a half passed, I wasnt contacted by anyone. CIC call centre agent told me that they DID NOT receive anything. Rather my file was transferred from Sydney CPC to Ottawa CPC. He suggested me to email all the documents to Ottawa CPC. I was lucky to have someone at CIC Call centre to atleast tell me that.
I did it right away and finally an acknowledgment letter came very moment. This was on Jan 19th, 2016. But since then, I have not heard back anything. Nothing for the CSE as well.

Asivad - Any say on this?

Isnt it that we raise a CSE and then CIC comes back with a requirement list for spouse?

That's the standard procedure being followed under EE to update CIC of any changes in the application post e-APR.

In this case, DDA emailed the documents to Ottawa CPC, before a request for documents. How would this effect?

They PM's me earlier on this as well. Not sure how this would affect their application but fairly certain that the delay isn't unusual. Adding a spouse to the application can typically take 4 weeks or longer.
