please please help, im soooooo stressed

Hi everyone, im new in this board, I had searched alot and got this board, I hope that someone can help me,

I have sponsored my hubby from Islamabad Pakistan on June 24th 2011 I had recieived an aknowledgment letter from Missessugga office on July 15. they had mentioned that they have approved my case and my file has been transfered to Islamabad Pakistan,,
But since then my hubby did not recieved anything to confirm if they have recieved the file or not,
Its almost 7 months, arent they suppose to send a file number to my hubby?? I do not know what is going on
I have emailed them 3 times but they do not reply,,

did this happend to anyone yet?? please let me know, this is long time I hope that my file is not lost

Log into ecas using the receipt number from when you paid the fees, and the sponsors details.

You might be able to see something about your file. Or call the call centre in Mississauga to try and obtain a file number. Did the sponsor approval letter not give you a file number?

Yeh, thanks dear,, I did recieved a case number from cic here in canada and they are saying that all the file has been transfered to islamabad pakistan, but my husband did not recieved any file number from Islamabad immigration,,I do have an accsess to cic online, but all it says is the file has been transfered to Islamabad and there is no more details, Im wondring if I can see the statuse in Islamabad, but I can not check until my husban gets a file number, isnt it right???

I certainly understand your stress with regard to not receiving information from the visa office.

I didn't receive any information whatsoever - not a word - from the Buffalo (NY, U.S.) visa office from the time my file was transferred to them in March 2011 until November, 2011 (8 months). I then received a request for missing information (that they actually had) that was handled via overnight mail and my passport request arrived a short time later. ECAS never showed an update, and still does not, despite the fact that I have already landed (!).

My advice is this... ...don't assume that you will receive anything from the visa office. Don't assume that ECAS is accurate. This doesn't mean anything is wrong. Some feel that contacting the visa office before the quoted time period for PR applications has passed could have a negative effect on the time your PR is received - I don't know if this is true. However, if you are outside of the timeframe specified on the Islamabad visa office's webpage then I would suggest you contact them.

One note: The Islamabad office is currently quoting a time period of 26 months for PR applications. You might have a bit of a wait ahead of you...

your concern is right but you need to figure out few things and dont be stressed, according to CHC-I normal processing time is 26 months so be patient and dont lose hope since its just the start.

I so hope that everything goes by well for you because I know how it feels like when you have to wait and stay away from your loved ones for that long!

Do you mean 2011? I ask this because in your note you have stated that "it's almost 7 months"... ?

The file number should be on the sponsorship approval letter, as you applied at the time they began including those. It should be Fxxxxxxxxx or Bxxxxxxxxx (yes, that's 9 numbers following the B or F). That will allow you to order GCMS notes to see more detailed information about what is being done to your file than you'll get on e-cas. If you are still looking to confirm that they have it, you can always send an email to Islamabad and ask them to send you an Acknowledgement of Receipt that they received the portion of the file pertaining to your spouse's PR application that was forwarded to them by Mississauga.

Ok then It is quite 'normal' these days for CHC to process a case anywhere from 15 to 22 months, so really you are not even half way through this painful journey We all are in the same boat. I applied in Feb 2011 and my file was received by Islamabad in March. No word from them as yet. They will most probably open my file in March or April of this year. Expect your file to be opened for initial review in August or September of this year... it could be later in case of further delays in the processing timelines of Islamabad. Don't want to scare or disappoint you but unfortunately these are the norms of CHC these days. There is not much you can do but to wait out this period patiently.

Btw, is a 'Nikah Only' case or "Full Wedding, i.e. Nikah and Rukhsati" case?

but im wondring why don't they reply my email, I have sent them emails 3 time but since i did not have any file number yet for my spouse i had give them all my other infos like both me and my hubby's name n last name birth dates addreses and the file number that i got here from mississuga office,
But i thinks im still missing something that is y they do not reply


dear ddobro2,, u r right they did send me a file number when i had submited my case, but with that i can only check with the cic in here which says that they have transfered the file in islamabad visa office that is all it says, in order for me to check the status in islamabad I have to have that file number which they will send to my husband,I guess this file number doesnt work in islamabad's cic's online system Guess I have to wait, insullah it will come. The sponsor and principal applicant have different Client IDs, xxxx-xxxx, but there is only one visa file number, F/Bxxxxxxxxx. The sponsorship approval letter should have the sponsor's Client ID and the visa file number. The PA's Client ID is not really important at this point because you can see both parts of the application logging in as the sponsor. Like I said, try emailing Islamabad. They will probably not respond, but it's worth a shot. In the meantime you can order GCMS notes to confirm they are working on the file: http://immipedia.ca/Ordering_FOSS_and_CAIPS_notes.
