Im still single until now when I got my PR... It was just 4 months ago that was confirmed a resident of Canada. I'm going home this march and get marry to my boyfriend who is in Kuwait.. He's actually going home too for us to bind together.. If i go back here in canada, they said that I have to inform immigration about my change of status, which is I have to do. Can I sponsor him when I be back here and get get with me his application for permanent resident? My main concern for this is that is having a good or minimum income will make my sponsorship approval? Cause I was just having 3 months full time job for me to get him.. Is this can be a default or factor of getting him here 0r processing his application? Thanks po... Hope you can help especially those who have undergone this kind of situation...

Have you already landed as a PR?

If yes, once you return to Canada you can sponsor him. You don't need to inform immigration of your change in status.

If you have not yet landed as a PR, then you need to inform immigration as soon as you marry to have him added to your application. If you marry and don't report it, and then land you will NEVER be able to sponsor him.

For spousal PR, there is no income requirement, however you must be able to show how you plan to support yourselves. You will be responsible for your husband for 3 years,a nd any benefits he claims will need to be repaid to the government by you.

Hope that helps, good luck!
