Hey,

I'm from the UK and planning to go to Canada this December as a tourist (which I'm allowed to stay for up to 6months right). I'm going to apply for a work permit before I go so hopefully it will process whilst I'm in Canada and then all I need to do is cross the border and re-enter for the work permit to be in place.

So here's the question, would I need to book a return flight If I'm visiting as a tourist? Or could I book a one way flight and then stay longer than the 6months if the work permit is successful. Or would I need to book an open return? Anyone know the answer to this? :\

Thanks in advance!

Hey Gethin ,

Booking a return ticket is best option for you. Going as a tourist without return ticket is not a good idea. It's also cheaper to have a return ticket. 8)
