hi, I just wanted to know one quick question. I need to know once my common in law partner gets his Permanent Resident visa, how long does he have to stay in Canada before he can go back to his country? there must be a time limit for this.

Greatly appreciate any reponse! :)

Once you have your visa, you have to land in canada within the validity period of the visa. After that you get a permanent resident card within a few months. Once he has the card he can go in and out of the country as he pleases provided that he spends at least at least 2 years (730 days) worth of time in the country for each 5 year period. They don't have to be all at the same time but he has to be in Canada at least 2/5ths of the time. If that makes sense.
