Hi I am a Canadian citizen and my girlfriend is a German citizen working as a sports journalist. She is also half way finished her education degree in Germany. She does not hold dual citizenship but she is a fluent English speaker. She applied for the IEC visa and was granted conditional acceptance. She filled out the questionnaire for the CIC to determine which supporting documents she would need to qualify. In the questionnaire Germany is listed as one of the Countries not requiring a medical check as part of the process. However if you select teaching or teachers assistant as one of your job possibilities while in Canada it automatically means that a medical check is necessary. In her conditional acceptance letter from the IEC it says that if a medical check is required the document must be uploaded for them to check it with the other documents. She contacted the doctors that they suggested and tentatively has an appointment booked for Monday. The visit is 290 Euros and she will need to travel for it. They said that after the exam she would receive a document stating that she has been examined then they would send the results to the CIC. She is not sure if she wants to work in the education field yet as journalism is her first choice but she would like to have it as a back up. My questions are;
a) Can she select that she doesn't want to teach in the questionnaire and later if she decides that she wants to teach in Canada then get the medical check done here?
b) Shouldn't the doctor be giving her a document with the full examination results? It seems like if they send it in it will take way longer.
Any advice is appreciated but please respond soon as the visit is 4 days away. Thanks.

a) Yes - she can.
b) No - the doctor sends the information to CIC directly. Giving her the results is not an option.

Scylla could you elaborate on that please? What would the process be for that later and would it be more expensive? Thanks for the advice, we have some decisions coming up and it would be good to be totally informed.
