Hi everyone,

I'm currently a Masters student at a University in Ontario. I have previously completed a Bachelor's here, and have lived in Canada for over 5 years now. I was looking into PR before becoming a Masters student, but now I'm getting close to finishing it and I'm very scared I may not be able to get it anytime soon.

I know that for OINP, you have to apply quickly, but I do not know how many times you can apply each year. Is it only in January? Are there any other options, in any other provinces, that can allow me to become PR more easily? I'm just tired of waiting.

I should also mention that I have some job experience, but only as a student. Does a job offer allow you to apply through Express Entry, given that all my work experience as a student doesn't count? My only worry is that I still need to wait over a year to obtain PR even after staying here for all this time.

Thanks for your help, it is much appreciated

It sounds like you need to spend more time researching Canada's immigration programs to understand what the requirements are. There's really no short cut to doing this - apart from hiring an immigration lawyer or consultant.

You need at least one year of work experience to apply for EE - even if you have a job offer.

Again, strongly recommend you spend more time researching the immigration programs on the CIC web site.
