I currently have a car financed with a local bank here in the US and I'm intending to pay off the loan and get the title to the vehicle. I'm intending to land on the first week of April. My questions are:

1. Can I bring this car with me when I move to Canada?
2. Is there going to be any kind of taxes I need to pay?
3. Considering that I will theoretically be owning the car only from February (less than 3 months), will this be a problem?
4. Is there any kind of car from the US that cannot be imported to Canada (I heard Mercedes Benz has to be modified, etc.)?

Thanks again.

BTW I will be bringing the original title of the vehicle under my name and I will be including this in my B4 list.

1. Read www.riv.ca on how to import
2. Read http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/export/export_docs/motor_vehicle.xml on how to export.

Thanks PMM. Will bringing a car make the process of landing longer in the port of entry?

Not the landing, but the customs end of it will be.

bla333,
What is the B4 list? Do I need to form this king of list before enter Canada?
Thanks

1/ you need a B4 for both goods accompanying and another for goods to follow when you arrive.

As what PMM said the B4 list is for all the goods you are bringing in with you while form B4A is for goods to follow.
