PLEASE help! Statutory declaration

My boyfriend and I are applying via London Outland. We are almost done everything and we recently noticed on his (the person being sponsored) checklist it asks for at least two statutory declarations....we have about 10 testimonies from family and friends....we have received most of them either scanned by email or in the post. Is this good enough or do we now have to get two of them signed or do they have to do it. Could someone please please give us some advice. Or what did other people do. We are common law by the way. We are so close to being done and don't want this to hold us up. It was confusing because we understood since we dont have a cosigner that we didn't have to do the form statutory declaration (is this right????) but now we are confused about this .

Thanks in advance for your help :)

It would be easier to get it done now, for sure it will cause delays later. When you ask "or do they have to do it?" Who do you mean by "they"? CIC?

If you are a common-law or conjugal partner, provide evidence that your relationship is genuine and
continuing and has existed for at least 12 months prior to your application. Also provide details of the
history of your relationship and at least two statutory declarations from individuals with personal
knowledge of your relationship
supporting your claim that the relationship is genuine and continuing.

Basically statutory = certified/notarized. So 2 of your friends/family testimonies, must be certified via a notary or whoever else can legally do this.

Also - I don't think that the ones that are scanned can really be added.... as you need originals. And as pointed out - you need AT LEAST 2 that are certified.
Good luck,
Sweden

Thanks for all the replies! I will get two notorized. Who can do this? A lawyer? Do we need a signature or a stamp and signature ?

A few letters were signed and emailed to me by PDF even if they aren't the notorized ones do we still have to use originals? I read in this forum that people also did it this way

Thanks again!

As far as I know you need a Notary, and not all lawyers are also Notary.

my fiance and I applied outland through sydney and he was was approved after 6 months and landed last week. We did not include the statutory declaration of common law union and we were never asked for it.

as for the stat. declarations from 2 people. we had one that my sister wrote that a lawyer at her work notarized for her and one from my mum that she had a lawyer she works with sign (don't think it was technically notarized) and the other 2 were just emailed word documents I printed.

we had no problems with this evidence that we sent, but it was a different VO and I guess it depends on each CIC officer.

Right, this form is NOT a requirement, unless there is a co-sponsor who is a common-law partner of the sponsor (normally only the case when sponsoring kids or parents). We didn't include this in our common-law app either, and were never asked for it.

The notarized ones have to be the originals. You can also send in extra letters of support, and they can be anything: a letter, an affidavit, an email, scanned or not. The people writing them should put their contact details on them - the vos rarely call, but it does make it look like you are not hiding anything. Also keep in mind that as evidence, more weight will be given to an affidavit or notarized letter than to a scanned letter or email.
