Hi,
I am a IT professional with 5 years of experience but my lack of educational qualification is holding me back.12th(FA 2004) later on did a diploma in IT in 2009 lot of certifications also, but not much luck. so i thought to go back to college but the problem is they need math & physics for BS in IT.so i am thinking of changing my profession, tourism & hospitality is the second option for me because i worked in a hotel before (as an IT tech) its a good industry with lot of growth here in UAE & all over the world.
My question is what are my chances of getting student visa for Canada keeping in mind gap between educational qualifications.change of profession.

thanks

I said to mentioned your background in detail, like what courses you attended your grades and your subjects in which you studied, also your nationality and your age , It all matters.

From your previous posts i presume that you completed your HSC in arts and then did some unknown courses, and your job experience is in computer but you don't have any solid qualification/certifications in computer which can support your experience.

If all this is true then you have very little chance of getting a Canadian visa.

Age 26 /Pakistani
HSC arts Eng, Urdu, Pak studies, Islamic studies, civics, education, 610/1100.
Diploma in IT skill development council Pakistan.
Microsoft certification MCP, MCSA, MCSE, MCTS, MCITP, cisco CCNA, comptia A+ network+ and some other courses for programing languages, web development, animation & graphics.

I gathered some information regarding my situation, to get admission in bachelors in IT or computer science, i need to do 1 year pre college or upgrade course because of science subjects (which i don't have in my HSC) it will be very long and expensive.
so i want to apply for diploma in tourism & hospitality management, then credit transfer to a university. requirement for this course is High School Diploma, High School Completion Certificate, or equivalent (no science subject). iBT 70, or IELTS 5.5 or 78 on the Canadian College exam. all i am concerned about is the gap between the studies.
thanks

You have no solid academic qualification, and although your visa chances are low but still there is no harm in trying.
First of all i suggest that you contact any college and tell them your details, specially your computer courses, and ask them whether it is possible to get enrolled in any higher secondary or graduate diploma based on your previous certifications, many colleges are offering articulations agreements with university programs, I suggest you try Red River college since they have articulation agreement with university of Manitoba, so try that one, also look for different colleges on net that are offering computer courses with articulation agreements.

Keep one thing in mind always look for courses with articulation agreements so that you can have a chance to go in a university program and don't just select random certifications courses, because they are useless in the long run, go for a program that can develop your foundation, there are many colleges in Canada who are offering two years diploma and after completion you can transfer your credit in to a degree program and altogether you get 4 Yrs degree which is much better then any individual diploma course.

I don't know how much gap you have in your studies since you didn't mention it, but whatever the case you need to give brief explanations to VO about those gaps which is a real pain in the ass situation in my opinion, but like i said before there is no harm in trying who know you might get lucky.
