Please help regarding Reference Letter

Hi friends,

I am going to send the H1 petition paper that my company send while filing my H1 B . I would also like to send a reference letter. Can I ask my friend to write a reference letter for me( he works in a different company in a responsible position). If he is willing to write a reference letter for me what are the things that he should mention. i know its not like college recommendation letter. I simply dont know what things he should write about me in his reference.

I would truly appreciate any suggestions

H1 LCA and plain job verification letter from employer should suffice but a supporting letter from friend/colleague
should help .....even better if it is a colleague and the letter quotes that he has worked with u in past mentioning
the details along with his current company name, current designation, contact email/ph no. etc
