Please help! Problems with police certificate

Hi guys,

Just got notification from IRCC for police certificate (I have paper based application), they told me I need police certificate from countries that I stayed in for more than 6 months, which are Canada, US and Hong Kong. When I headed to RCMP station today, the officer told me that I need a letter from IRCC that requests RCMP in specific for fingerprint collecting. Do you guys have similar situation?

Usually you don't have to provide a police certificate from Canada, because they can check their own records. Sometimes you will get a separate call for fingerprints at RCMP. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/questions-answers-by-topic.asp?st=4.7
