Please help.. I just dont want to make any mistake on this form
On Question 9 ) Are you a naturalized Canadian or Permanent resident of Canada
I am a naturalized Canadian, and I never applied for the permanent resident status. I came here in 1993 .. and I was a dependent of my dad, and he got his citizenship in 1995, so I got it too

I selected Yes
On what date did you permanent resident? .. what should I put here? the date that I came to Canada or the date I became a naturalized Canadian or I leave it blank
Which Canadian visa office issued your immigrant visa or confirmation of permanent residence?

I am really stuck at those 2 questions:


Question 10 Where you yourself sponsored to come to Canada?

My dad sponsored me

What type of sponsorship?

Should I put Parent or dependent child ?

For what I understand is that you came here in 1993 and then you got Citizenship (probably applied with your dad) in 1995. This answer you question it means you were Permanent resident before that.

For second question, did you came with your dad in Canada as dependent child or your dad was living in Canada and he sponsored you to come here ?

This means I became a permanent on the first day that I came to Canada in 1993 , I didn't applied he did everything.. probably he did it for me as well

My Dad was living in Canada and he sponsored me in 1993

Since your father sponsored you to come to Canada the answer to Question 9 "Are you a naturalized citizen or permanent resident of Canada?" is Yes and then you would enter the date you became a permanent resident which is the date you came to Canada.

For Question 10 "Were you yourself sponsored to come to Canada?" tick Yes and enter the date you became a permanent resident. Enter "dependent child" as the type of sponsorship.

As to which Canadian visa office issued your immigrant visa you would enter the visa office where your father's application for you was processed.

I'm checking the Record of Landing paper. At the bottom left corner, it says This form has been establish by the Minister of Employment and Immigration

and on the top right corner it says Employment and Immigration of Canada

so, the answer would be Employment and Immigration Canada or Ministry of Employment and Immigration Canada

I am just a little bit confused

Visa office the country from where you came from Usually the name of the city where Canadian embassy is in your country of origin

Where were you living before coming to Canada in 1993? If you were a citizen of that country and born there, then more than likely the Canadian visa office in that country is where your visa was issued. Did you keep your old passport with the visa in it?
