Hi everyone

I have a quick question,

My family and I (wife, and 2 daughters) have lived in the United States for about 10 years. We went for tourism and ended up staying and as a result we lived in "ilegal status". I was deported last year 2010. Will this affect my application?

Thank you!

I guess it is going to come up in your FBI report.
Well please wait for seniors to comment.

Hire a reputable lawyer to represent you if you are interested in migrating to Canada.

When he hires will they not still apply for FBI? Well, i am not really an expert in this area of immigration, wait for someone who had lived in the USA under the same conditions and , then later applied for Immigration. The better you wait and get this can of example or experience.

You said you were deported. Do you mean that you have a deportation order, but still remained in US and filed to Canada with the family?

In you FBI report, to my understanding, it will show history of criminal history. Outstaying a visa, should not be considered as criminal. It is solely violating immigration only, if you didn't commit any other crimes.

I've seen in this forum that there are others who are currently out of status in the states and still filed. some as prime applicants, some as accompanying. in the application, canada asked you to have at least come into the states legally and have legal status for one year after entry. To my understaning of their saying, it is all right for those to be out of status to apply too then.
