Please help everyone!

I got invitation from EE and I'm applying with my common law partner (my boyfriend).
He has two job history in Canada.
Before the ITA work history bug, cic ask him to upload two !!employment letter!! (He already get them)
But after the system service this morning, the document list now shows he must upload two !!employment record!! (Which takes a few more weeks to get)

The thing is, he is my common law partner. I qualify for the CEC and FSW, so why does he need reference letter? Employment letter is enough to prove his work history...

Please help! Anyone in similar situation??

If the common-law partner has claimed Canadian work experience, they are bound by the same regulations as anyone else under EE. They will have to provide work reference letters which have all the details that CIC requires on such documents.

It is critical that you provide these reference letters because their Canadian work experience could have potentially added up to 10 points to your CRS score and CIC will award the actual points to your profile only if your post ITA application contains the reference letters. Check the quoted text below and confirm if their Employment letters contain all those details.

he following documents are mandatory for each work experience declared:

a reference or experience letter from the employer

should be an official document printed on company letterhead (must include the applicant’s name, the company’s contact information [address, telephone number and e-mail address], and the name, title and signature of the immediate supervisor or personnel officer at the company);

should indicate all positions held while employed at the company and must include the following details: job title, duties and responsibilities, job status (if current job), dates worked for the company, number of work hours per week and annual salary plus benefits.

If the work experience is in Canada, proof may include copies of T4 tax information slips, Notices of Assessment (NOA) and Option C printouts issued by the Canada Revenue Agency (the time period for these documents should reflect the work experience timeframe, e.g., work experience from 2006 to 2008 requires only documents from those calendar years).

I think its good to take everything out that doesn't effect your ITA eventhough it does decrease your score.

Thank you @Asivad Anac
Your reply is so helpful!!
What would happen if I upload employment letter with a letter of explanation about my situation?
The HR officer will be on vacation until mid August. I don't want to waste another two weeks......

That won't convince CIC at all. If the letters don't have those details (especially roles & responsibilities), you stand to lose those points you've claimed based on this experience and if that brings down your CRS score below the draw cutoff, your application will be cancelled.

I have 600 points from PNP, so I'm pretty sure the points won't go below cut off. And my common law partner only have work experience for 11months. His job history doesn't increase our score anyway...

My concern is if they will reject my application becaus of other reason?

That is exactly the same reason why I took out my spouse's work history and education. But I am not sure if you can do it after you received ITA.

I should tell cic the truth because they can see our tax return as well as income.

I though you put only information that you wanna claim points for. I thought you don't have to declare everything?? I mean my spouse is employed full time since 2013 but I took that out from my profile cause i don't wanna bother with his papers from work since we have enough points... don't know what to do..

i think we should call CIC and ask them. But honestly i don't think we must declare information in EE that doesn't give us any extra points especially if you have PNP.

There is absolutely no need to declare something that doesn't get you points. You can safely remove this experience from your partner's work history without any repercussions - CIC doesn't care about this.

Thank you Asivad Anac!

So I can delete his work experience in work history section and only include it in personal history section EVEN AFTER ITA??

What if CIC check my express entry profile and find its different?

You can remove those details in your application which don't get you CRS points and/or affect program eligibility. If you're very worried, upload an LOE to explain the rationale behind removing that work experience.

I know that you can remove foreign work from spouse work history no problem, as it has been done many times, but can we safely remove Canadian work if no points are granted?
