Hi !! I need urgent advice. I and my wife applied for wife's parents in 2005. After 2 years we applied for my parents also. So as of now we have applied for 5 people ( 3 from my wifes side ( parents + dependent brother) and 2 from my side ( parents)).

My In-laws got the medicals about a year back , my father-in-law is already settled in USA , he is a heart patient , we had mentioned in the application that he will not be moving to canada. They all underwent medicals , then they waited for a year for the visa , but after a year we got a letter for missisaga saying that case is rejected due to LOW INCOME.

Now , the immigration dept has sent us the papers for my parents , and asked them to send the complete documents to New delhi CHC.

My query is:

1) If my in-laws case was rejected due to our low income , then should my parents send their documents. Will they reject my parents case also on the same grounds ?
2) Once they send medicals , do they see the income part after that ? Or was that just an excuse and the real reason was the medical condition of my father-in-law ?
3)My wife earns about 35K and i earn about 20K . How much income is needed to sponsor parents.
4) Any advice to help us in this situation.

Re: PLEASE HELP,in-laws case rejected due to less funds ,should i apply for pare

The above query is for my brother , i have written in first person to make the matters easily understandable

1. Since they are now trying to sponsor 2 people and before there were 3, they don't need as much income.
2. I would think that the sponsorship part would be completed by Mississauga before medicals are requested.
3. It depends on how many kids they have. The Low Income Cutoff Table can be found here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5196E10.asp and scroll down to table 4. With 20,000 a year, your brother makes only enough money to meet his own personal needs. If his wife co-signed the sponsorship for him, both their incomes count. According to the LICO, if they have 55,000 together, they make enough money to support 6 people. That includes their kids. If they have 2 kids or less, they are still ok. If they have 3, then they don't have enough. If their income is better now than it was when they applied, it could help to send updated information to CIC.

Hmm, I'm not sure what you are asking for... If they asked for updated income information just provide it to them. :)

as their family increased the Low Income Cut-off is changed too, that's why they ask for the new proof of income now.
