Good day forum members, :)

I was nominated through SINP.
I have my 2 kids with me in my PR application and patiently waiting for our PPR at this moment.
My question is, after we get our visas and finally landed in Canada, would it be okay to let my children live/study in Manitoba for the MEANTIME ( maybe 3-6 months or less)? I believe after getting a job in SK, I can juggle everything i need to do to so we can live together.
I am a single mom and would like to start a good life in Canada with my two kids. I am so blessed for having a friend who is willing to take care of the kids while I go hunt for decent job but they live in Winnipeg.

I would like to know if this would be allowed or there will be no issue at all so I can plan accordingly.

Please advice. Thank you in advance. :D :D :D

If your friend is willing to be their guardians while you are away in SK, I don't see any issues for your kids living and studying in Winnipeg, MB. By car, it's only about 6 drive from Winnipeg to Regina.

Might need to do something official when enrolling in school re your friend looking after your kids whilst you are away or simply just keep it under the radar as though you are present. Only real issue with the latter I guess if the school need to contact you for any reason you might need to give some authority for school to speak to your friend about your kids. Easy for me to over think things here so maybe someone else can input as sure other families are in same position and manage.

Thanks steaky and Bs65 for your replies.
I will try to search what are the requirements for this plan. I guess, it is really possible and the only thing is make in black and white.

God bless! :)

That is great!! It is a very important step to begin your plan with expert advice. :)

If you can, I would really appreciate it if you can share the exact name or website of the Manila immigration. I couldn't find it on the Canadian Government website list of pre-arrival organizations. Thank you!

Best of luck!!!
