I was asked to pay TRP fees from the embassy.

I was told that it is a step towards approval, others say it is nothing. Anyone knows what dose that mean?
thank you

Are you sure the fee was for a TRP? TRPs are for people who are inadmissible to Canada - typically due to a crime.

Before you pay any fees, you should try and contact CIC. Because I called the IRCC call center a few weeks ago and while I was on hold to talk to an agent, there was a computerized message stating that "CIC won't ask you for any fees except the fees that you pay when you send your application and if you receive any call/email asking for any fees, try to contact CIC immediately"

yes it was a TRP, because I hold a travel document for refugees, so they told because of the type of passport I need to pay the TRP to continue process the application.

P.s: I did pay the same amount when I applied for the visitor visa last time.

but I got the email from the embassy it self, and when I applied for a visitor visa. I did pay the same amount as well
