Hi everyone,
I've been looking into applying for PR and I'm terribly confused.
My background info is: I graduated from university in Ontario in May 2016, worked part-time as a Teaching Assistant in my university from September 2016- December 2016. My PGWP expires on July 2019. I have a full-time job offer and will start working full-time as a public accountant from September 2017 in Alberta. I believe my job is NOC- class A.
My questions are:
1. Should I apply for AINP (Alberta Nominee Program), which I'm qualified under International Graduate Category? But I heard many bad things about how it takes more than 2 years to process the application, it is expensive to apply, and because AINP doesn't support EE, some people applied to EE after they applied for AINP and they couldn't because the AINP is in progress already.
2. If I decide to wait to complete 1 year of work experience and apply for EE, will I have enough time? As my PGWP expires in July 2019, and I can only start applying in November 2018 (after 1 year of work has completed), which means I will only have 8 months before my work permit expires. I see that EE is often processed within 6 months after an ITA, but how long will it take between initial submission and ITA?
3. If my PGWP expires while I'm in the pool for EE or waiting for AINP application, can I extend it or get some sort of bridge working visa? Or will I need an ITA to be able to get the bridge visa?
4. Should I start my EE profile as soon as possible? or wait till I complete 1 year work experience? or sometimes in between? I saw that I will need an LMIA from my employer under EE, should I ask my employer for this early?
5. Does the 4 months of part-time Teaching Assistant experience count under EE?
6. Should I hire an agent/lawyer to do all this? I tried to read different forums but all the jargons confuse me. Could somebody give me a timeline that I should expect?
Any advices are greatly appreciated!!!!
Thank you!!!
