Hi ,

Please am in a position of dilemma at the moment because i have received offer letter from SAIT for September intake and i will soon apply for student permit but i have earlier applied for federal skilled worker program and the application status is in process. please how do i convince the visa officer about my good intention to return to country of residence after my study( showing strong ties). Will my Permanent residence visa application not affect my study ? and how do i convince the VO linking the two together . Thanks.

There is no question in the form if you have applied for skilled worker or permanent residency.

Yes i totally agree with you that there is none in the form but the visa officer can conclude thinking i am about using student permit to sneak in to canada because i need to convince the officer that i will leave canada as soon as i finish my studies but he can say putting in for FSW can make my good intention not to be acceptable. how do i equate this into my SOP.Because i can only justify myself through my study plan. please any idea on how to structure it? Thanks.

Hi,

I am in the same boat as both of you. I have applied for the FSW program and I am in the waitlist for an interview. I have been granted admission for my MBA at McMaster.

I was planning on having my PR ready by this time. Now I am wondering if the FSW application will lead to my student visa being rejected. I am aware about dual intent but I am worried about it. I have been told that we need to mention the FSW UCI# while applying for the student visa.

Any suggestions/pointers?

Thanks.

So you already have a UCI? I believe you need to indicate it in the form, better safe than sorry, they might be able to search it.

Thanks! I have a UCI# and I have been told that I will need to attend an interview for the FSW program. I have no clue as to how I can convince the VO that I will leave Canada after my MBA if my FSW PR application is refused! ???

When is your scheduled FSW interview? Can't you wait for it to be processed? So you will be a landed immigrant then study so tuition won't be as high compared to International Students. However, if you can't wait & really want to study for now, there's no interview for SP application.

Hello Mayowa, we haven't received further updates with our QSW yet, we're waiting for the CSQ however we already applied online last May for my GF's SP & my OWP, thank God, we were approved without affecting our SP & OWP or QSW application.
