Please help! cant access WP renew site...

Hello forum friends,

Ive been trying to renew my closed WP for 2 days now, but it keeps on leading me "Open WP" or "Express Entry"

I know I answered correctly all the eligibility questions but i cant find the button for work permit renewal. It always ends up with 2 choices only. Either OPEN WP or EXPRESS ENTRY.

Any suggestions, I would appreciate. Im running out of time.. my WP will expire in 2 weeks. I called CIC and asked if there is technical prob, they said none.

Im thinking to just send my documents to Vegreville if i cant access online.

Hi,

Did you stop when the choices, "open work permit" and "express entry" were presented to you? Do you see the Continue button?

I am assuming here in one of the questions you answered is you have a PR application and you have obtained preliminary eligibility (I applied for permanent residence to an office in-Canada and was determined to be eligible for permanent resident status (first stage approval).).

If you read through what is stated it only shows - "You may be eligible to work in Canada with an open work permit.". If your intention is to apply for a work permit - then select the Continue under this. "May be eligible" does not mean you are applying for an open work permit in the course of the questionaire - the type of WP you are applying for will be indicated in the forms you will fill-up.

This will lead you to another set of questions - answer them. At the end of that - there will be instructions how to apply, fees to be paid, list of documents and forms etc.

Also - have you not yet applied previously online and have a MyCIC account setup?

Hi. yes i do have a MY CIC account...and thats what i exactly did. Last year when I renewed my WP, it was easier. I dont know whats wrong this time..i tried nth time with different answers in the eligibility questions just to see if it will direct me to the correct link...but no luck still

I tried to do what you suggested but the continue button will only make me proceed in doing the TEMP RES application or EXPRESS ENTRY application....
im so helpless now Tried so many times with different answers in the eligibility questions for 3 days now...my wp will expire in 2 weeks

I was able to arrive at the checklist as well as the list of items when I did a test on the site - inputting details as I mentioned in my previous message. At the end of the initial part - I was able to see the two choices presented - a TRV and an open work permit - and scrolling to the right side of the screen - the continue button is seen.

I'd suggest you use a different browser (aside from IE, use Chrome or Firefox) and see which one works. Some current browsers may be blocking Java to restrictively, so the webpage does not show up properly. If not - try a different PC.

Also, you may want to review your answers to the checklist questions.

I keep on getting to TRV or EE entry link....I cant find the right link for Close WP renewal...I tried diff browsers and pc already....tried to change my eligibility answers as well.

Anybody who was in the same situation? Please help..i dont know what to do anymore

If you get the option to apply for OWP why you wanna apply for closed one? OWP is even better option

hi my friend! yes if i have the option but sadly my pnp supporting letter clearly states that i should only work for the same employer.
Last february, when i did my application, i didnt had problem logging in and going in the correct link, its just that i was not able to upload an lmia exempt form thats why it was refused last week. this time, i have all the docs but i cant access anymore

HI, I had the same issue. When you select your status, select Temporary Resident, not worker. Then you should get the correct forms.
