I am thinking of Canadian migration. I am a software Engineer from sri lanaka. I have a first class degree in electronics and telecommunication Engineering from a sri lankan university. My experience is on C++ back end programming. I have been working in sri lanaka , in a team for 6 years which developed stock market solutions for some big US and European clients.
Would it be easy for me to find a job in the field? My experience is on Back end programming on solaris/unix platform.
I have seen in various forums and sites that finding a job in the field in Canada is extremely difficult, since Canadian employers
prefer Canadian experience and qualifications. And lot of immigrants are doing odd jobs, some even for three for four years.
Is this situation true for software industry too. Or do software professionals find job more quickly than others even without Canadian
experience.
I am rather discouraged about taking the decision now. I am now looking at Australia too. But I prefer Canada because one of my uncle is already there.
I am planning to move with my two kids and wife.
