Hi everyone,

I am new here and this is my first post :)

I am looking for butcher job and sponsorship also. Could anyone give me some piece of advice in how to get both even if I am still living in the Philippines and have no any visa at all.
I have an experience for more than 10years in our owned family business.
Kindly tell me some important details what to do first. Any useful ideas and information would be highly appreciated.

Thank you very much.

Butchers are a NOC B level job (NOC 6331) or NOC C level (NOC 9462). Here is the matrix for translating NOC codes into levels: http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/pdf/Matrix.pdf

Here is the NOC entry for 6331: http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/qc/job_futures/statistics/6251.shtml

It says the job opportunities are "fair".

A quick google search turned up some jobs, and that is always a place to start. You might wish to consider Alberta because they have the best employment prospects at the present time and thus you have the greatest chance of finding an employer willing to go through the LMO process in order to hire you. Also, if you know someone already in Canada, they might be willing to work with you as well. But at the present time you must have arranged employment to apply under the federal immigration program. Check with specific provinces to see if they might have programs for which you qualify.

Good luck!

Computergeek,

Thank you very much for your very useful reply and links.

I will try to apply in grocery stores as they have high percentage of hiring butchers.

Thanks,

Hello, I also want to work as butcher in Canada. How is your job search? Did it work? Im currently not in Canada. Is it easy for butcher to get LMIA? Thank you very much.

One thing..don't get too excited..we have qualified butchers in Canada. In order to get a LMIA, the employer needs to prove that no Canadian can do the job.
