I applied for Permanent Residency in Canada through Canadian Experience Class (CEC) last year. My application was received in October 2014 and was placed into processing.

However, my current temporary work permit runs out in July this year and it is highly likely that the PR won't have been finalized by then.

I have looked into applying for a Bridging Open Work Permit in order to remain and work in the country past July while my PR is finalized. In order to be eligible to apply the following is required...

• Applicant must be currently in Canada
• Must be on a valid work permit that is due to expire within 4 months
• Must have received a positive eligibility decision on an application for Permanent Residence under FSWP, CEC, Federal PNP or FSTP

I qualify for the first two of those requirements. However, I need to confirm whether I also qualify for the third as well.

I did receive an email from CIO-Sydney in February that stated the following...

UCI: XXXXXXXX

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Refer to this - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/work/prov/bridging.asp

Your letter is the Acknowledgement of Receipt of the application, thus satisfying the third bullet in your previous post:

Determining if a positive eligibility decision has been made
For the purposes of determining if a positive eligibility assessment has been made, the processor will review if the Eligibility Assessment value is set to “Passed” in the Global Case Management System (GCMS). If this decision has not been entered yet, for the purposes of these instructions, a “positive eligibility assessment” will also be considered made when the following is confirmed in GCMS:

For FSWP applications, the status of the Ministerial Instructions activity has been set to “Met” or a positive Final Determination of Eligibility letter or e-mail has been sent.
For PNP applications, the status of the Eligibility EC-QC/PNP activity has been set to “Passed” or the Acknowledgment of Receipt letter or e-mail has been sent by the Centralized Intake Office (CIO).
For CEC applications, the status of the Eligibility CEC activity has been set to “Passed” or the Acknowledgement of Receipt letter or e-mail has been sent by the CIO.
For FSTP applications, the Acknowledgement of Receipt letter or e-mail has been sent by the CIO.

Further to the 3 bullets you have - the list of eligibility requirements (refer to the link above) are:

Bridging work permit: eligibility parameters
To be eligible for a bridging work permit, foreign nationals must meet the following requirements:

- they are currently in Canada;
- they have valid status on a work permit that is due to expire within four months;
- they are the principal applicant on an application for permanent residence under the FSWP, the CEC, the FSTP, or the PNP (see note below);
- they have received a positive eligibility assessment on their permanent residence application under one of the Economic Class programs above; and
- they have applied for an open work permit.
