Hi guys,

I know the title is confusing, but I ran away from home and moved to Canada when I was 14 as a lesbian refugee and I am 22 years old now and identify as bisexual with my PR. My fiancé proposed to me when I last visited during Christmas and I’m going to see him with the hopes of getting married before going back to Canada by September. He wants me to wait until I’m done with school while he works and save up enough money so we are financially ready to have a proper traditional and white wedding, honestly I couldn’t care less right now, I just want him here with me because that’s another 2 years waiting and I’m tired and lonely. I am also a student on OSAP and I want to sponsor him to get his PR so he can work here and build our family together.

My question is I don’t know if there’ll be a problem about my sexuality change, a little back story, I didn’t really get to experience how I felt around boys back then, because I attended an all girls school and had very religious and strict parents that wouldn’t let me close or communicate with boys. I want to file an Outland spouse sponsorship for him while he’s working and preparing for his exam to get his medical license.

Sorry for the long read, I wanted to make short but I then thought the better I explain the more you guys would understand. I would literally appreciate anyone’s advice on how to go about this. THANK YOU!!!

Most likely a consultant looking for free advice?
Wouldn't be the first time an unlicensed "consultant" did that... However, benefit of the doubt for the moment...

This case has so many red flags. Person is insistent that they are a lesbian and they need protection. Seems like you returned to your home country as soon as you got citizenship (or perhaps before). Clearly you didn’t fear for your life as a lesbian. Most LGBTQ refugees are frightened they will be killed or severely beat and rejected by their family and will never return to their home countries especially so soon. Did your family get asylum based on the fact that you were a lesbian? People don’t get to know their sexuality based on whether they attend an all girls or all boys school. Assume you will return to your home country again to get married. Anticipate a lot of scrutiny of your file because faking sexuality is a huge problem when it comes to asylum applicants. Expect that your new husband will likely be asked about your past as a lesbian or the fact that you are bi because being LGBTQ is not accepted by many people especially in a spouse.

Would also point out that he unlikely to able to get licensed in Canada as an IMG.

Yeah, I’m not the owner of this account or a consultant . I was told about this website yesterday by a friend that didn’t mind sharing her account
Please create and post under your own account. They are free and there is no good reason for not having your own.
Your posting history is important when offering input, as it provides context for followup questions.
As you can see, sharing accounts also can lead to a suspicion that the forum is being abused by unscrupulous consultants, leading to the questions being ignored.
