My cousin has finished the contract as livein-caregiver with my friend for 4 years, and she has been applying for permanent resident 14 months. Currently she does not receive any notification from CIC yet. Now her visa will be finished in january next year. Can she apply other job if to extend her visa while she is waiting the decision from CIC.? she need to find other job to earn money to survive while waiting decision ...is that illegal for her?
Please give an advice.

is she an open work permit holder or just a regular work permit? if she is an OWP holder, she can seek for any job but if she only have a regular work permit, she need to look for an employer first then ask for an LMO and then apply for a new work permit under the new employer
