Please can anyone help me regarding visiting Canada

Hello All,

I am a UK citizen, I have applied for a FSW 1 VISA and am waiting for my application to be processed from the London Office. It could take some time.

My query is:

My boyfriend of 2 years lives in Canada and is Canadian. I am planning to visit him on my passport. I believe I can be a visitor
without a VISA for 6 months......is that correct?

I just wondered if they will let me in for that long and also what proof do I need to show that I am not intending to stay?
I will obviously have a return ticket to the UK and my boss will write a letter stating my return to work for the NHS, will that be enough?

Do I need my partner to write anything, proof of funds???? I'm not sure what I need to do to make my journey sraight forward without complication.

Does anyone have any experience or knows the set up. The website is not clear.

Hi, Yes UK is a Visa Exempt Country so you can enter Canada for 6 months, this is called having "Implied Status", in order to Visit for 6 months and declare a 6 month stay you need;

- Return Ticket to the UK
- Proof of work in the UK...The letter from your boss is great!
- Proof of Funds..I am not 100% but I think you need around $8,000 CAD in savings for 6 months..also you Boyfriend can help you out there by
showing he can support you..a letter from him and proof of his income would be great..I used my Husbands Option C Printout and a photocopy of
his 6 most recent payslips. I extended my stay and my husband is supporting me so they will accept your boyfriend to support you.
- Proof of your medical insurance

That should be all you need..
