Hi,

- You are in Canada on a closed work permit
- You want to apply for a TRV/Multiple Entry visa - presumably so you can travel outside of Canada and then come back, right?
- On your way back to Canada, why do you want to return and what would you like to do?
Work Permit = Work
Visit = Tourism

As to searching the CIC - your answer is actually in the CIC webpage. You can always use the Search function or the Help Centre to look for answers to your questions.http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/index-featured-int.asp#tab1
Search for: "Apply for a new temporary resident visa from within Canada"

If religion is explicitly stated in the passport information page, then it is part of the identity details listed in the passport and any change in identity details will need to be reflected. Only IF it is part of that listed in the passport. However, not many countries have religion listed in the passport identity page, so if it NOT, then your friend does not have anything to worry about. If the name changes (or any part of the name) after marriage, then the passport needs to be updated with the new name.
