Dear Members,

Greetings!!

I am requesting an assessment to know if I should be even creating a profile at this time or not.
Here is the assessment which has been done by one of the consultant, however I find it somewhat incorrect.

I am seeking clarification as follow.

1. Age: Being 33+ years of age I guess i have correct points of 12.

2. Education: A physics honors graduate where I have done ECA from WES as well. So I guess 21 points are correct here.

3. Work Experience: I have around 6+years of experience but somewhere between in time I switched from company A to company B and there was a gap of 3 months ( not including this in exp. ).
Will this gap hurt the points ? I have been given 15 points by consultant here. So I would like to know if I am eligible to receive these 15 points or not.

4. IELTS Score: Big difference here. I was given 24 by consultant but i have score as following: R-7, W-6, L-8.5 and S-7.5. Now this equates to CLB-7 which gives me 16 points and not 24. Kindly guide me to know if my calculation is correct and I am getting only 16 points because of language test.

5. Spouse's IELTS: He has asked me that my wife should take this exam and score 5 in each to have CLB 5 which would give me 5 points. So I think this is right, however correct me if I am wrong.

Rest I have not included as i have no experience outside India, no blood relative in Canada, no French language ability, no arranged employment. I am assuming adaptability is 0 because of these.

So total as per him is 12+21+15+24+5= 77

However as per me it should be 12+21+15+16+5= 69

Request you to assist me with following question.

1. Correct me if i am wrong at any of the above point ?
2. Until an unless my wife takes exam and get CLB-5, there is not point in creating the profile ?
3. I tried checking the eligibility for express entry but system kept telling me that i am not eligible, what could I be missing here ?
4. Do i need to get ECA done for my wife as well, wherein she is Graduate in arts via correspondence ( not a regular college ) but do have a B.ed degree of 1 year from regular college after her graduation in arts.
5. Silly question, I am supposed to apply for FSW which is an express entry program, right ?
6. Any other additional info, if i am overlooking something important here.

I have done my research and read quite a bit but yet seeking clarification from experienced users here.

Thank you so much in advance for your assistance.

Regards.

I would suggest that you use the CIC points calculator to get a better idea of where you stand in terms of points.

I agree with rsingh86, here is the link to CIC's CRS calculator tool: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

With your information above, you are still under 400.

You will have to bump up your ielts score and target better score for your spouse aswell. Every point counts so getting ECA for your spouse will give you additional points. Yes you will apply under FSW.

Your overall CRS points are still not 400.
You need to retake IELTS and target the below band scores:
L - 8
R-7
W-7
S-7

The more the better. Above scores are minimum scores to obtain CRS 400 or more and qualify for CLB 9
I can see that just because you have less band score in W - 6, you have missed a good opportunity to qualify for CLB 9
All the best.

Dear All,
Many thanks for your assistance.
So I need to have better score in IELTS. Anything else that can be done besides IELTS ( to compensate it ) ?
Regards.

Have your wife take IELTS and get ECA. If you know French, you could take the French language exam for additional points. You could complete additional education (e.g. Masters) to score more points. Of course you can also try to secure a job offer in Canada (although this tends to be next to impossible to do).
