I am a nurse in the Philippines with 5-years experience.

I arrived Canada in April, 2015 and worked with my employer for a year as a live-in caregiver. I was just released last April 30th, due to some misunderstandings and am currently looking for a new employer.

I got engaged in February, 2016. My Canadian fiance and I plan to have our church wedding in the Philippines, sometime August, 2018.

I currently live with my fiance while looking for a new employer. I found out that it will take at least 9 months more or less to get an LMIA from a new employer.

With this current situation we are facing, he proposed that we get married here in Canada and sponsor me.

Please advise what is best for us.

Thank you.

Yes LMIA processing time takes soooo long. If I were you get married here and ask your fiance to sponsor you as immigrant. You are lucky to have a fiance here and willing to marry you :) some of my friends got released by their employers too and they're here for almost 2 yrs but they're still waiting for their new work permit. Once he sponsored you, you don't need to work as live-in caregiver.
