Please advise on Extending Stay for Parents as Visitor

Hello,

My Parents are currently in Canada on multiple entry visitor visa, they came to Canada in middle of February this year and as per 6 month rule, they have schedule return tickets for August 8th, however in between my wife is sick for past few days and there by, I am looking to extend stay for my parents for additional 3-4 months.

I am not sure if I am eligible to extend their stay this way considering they have multiple entry visa and departure date after just over a month. I am not sure if CIC will approve or not.

Can someone please advise what shall I do ? ..and if I can apply for extension, what forms do I need to fill out and do I have sufficient time for that ?

Yes you can apply for an extension online. You should do it a month before the expiry date of their 6 month period. It will take a few months to hear from IRCC.

Just to add that once you apply for an extension they can stay pending a decision even if the wait goes beyond their original authorised stay.
