My brother was on his way from Korea to visit my family in Calgary today.

He was first questioned at Vancouver Int'l airport because his air ticket was an open round ticket.
Then they asked him a number of questions to which he did not answer in the right manner - his English is very poor and there was obviously some miscommunication. The officers thought he would stay beyond his 6 months, and have detained him at Vancouver. We got a call from the officers that he would be sent back to Korea tomorrow.

My questions:
Is it possible for him to enter Canada in the future as a visitor?
I'm sure his personal record would now be on the border file - will it be something we cannot correct?
What needs to be done for him to enter Canada as a visitor in the future?

Thanks.

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
He should talk to the embassy in Korea when he gets back. It might be helpful for him to apply for a visit visa and prove to the embassy that he is planning to return to Korea, even though he is visa exempt. Next time, do not get a ticket with an open date. Get one with a return date within the 6 months but get one that you can change the date of for a fee in case the plans change. It would also help if he has a letter from his employer in Korea stating that he is on vacation and will return to his job in Korea. It would also helps if he studies a bit more english to prevent a future misunderstanding.

It also depends what type of order is being issued. If it is a voluntary withdrawal, or departure order then less problems. But if he is issued an exclusion order, it is a ban for either 1 or 2 years.
