Hi all,

My IELTS (General) score is as given below -

Listning : 7.5
Speaking : 7.0
Reading : 6.0
Writing : 6.0

Overall Score : 6.5

I wish to apply for PR through Canadian Experience Class. I belong to Skill level A and NOC Code - 2174. I am very much confused about the IELTS score requirements for my class (CEC). Could someone please advise me.

Quick response is very much appreciated.
Thanks in advace.

your score does not meet the minimum eligbility to apply under NOC 2174 (which is level A). read pg 16 of this guide:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op25-eng.pdf

As per the guideline to meet the language eligibity under NOC level 0 or A, you either have to have 7 in all four areas (listening, speaking, reading, writing) or you can have 6 for any one ability, 7 or higher for any other two, and 8 or higher for the remaining ability. So, based on your score:
Listning : 7.5 (7 or higher for any two ability)
Speaking : 7.0 (7 or higher for any two ability)
Reading : 6.0 (6 for any one ability)
Writing : 6.0 (8 or higher for the remaining ability)

you needed 8 in one of the abilities, because rest of your score was okay.

Hi, you IELTS is good to go. You should convert your IELTS each abilities mark to CLB level.
IELTS CLB
Speaking 7 8
Listening 7.5 8
Reading 6 7
Writing 6 7

So after you converted, all of your abilities are equal or above CLB 7 so you IELTS meet CEC NOC A requirements.

If you have qualifying Canadian work experience at Skill Type 0 or Skill Level A of NOC, your test results must match the CLB/NCLC below (see chart):

* 7 or higher for each of the language abilities, or
* 6 for any one of the language abilities, 7 or higher for any other two of those abilities and 8 or higher for the remaining ability
