Hello All,

I finally received an email from the embassy requesting the passports to issue the immigration visa, and i'm planning to move to Canada permanently by end of Q1 2013. Most probably will land in Toronto.

My question is how difficult it is to find a job in my field? I know it differs from person to person, but below is short briefing about my experience & education background

I hold a Bachelor's & Master's degree in Telecommunications from a University in Central Europe, and have been working for 8 years in Telecom & IT for a Global Company (Ericsson) in different roles (Support Engineer, Support Team Leader, Service Delivery Manager & Project Manager), with regards to english language - i scored 7.5 in General IELTS.

I've read a lot about how Canadian experience demonstrates a huge obstacle when trying to get that first job, so i'd like to learn from your experiences, any advise is welcomed...

Thank you Ankit, i've gone through your post and its quite informative and gives a confidence boost :), i already have the visa stamped now and ready to make the move.

Another question, are there any Telecom/IT/ICT recruitment agencies in Toronto who can possibly assist in getting a job? Or Even a short term contract as a start?

//Regards

Hi,

My brother had more than 10 yrs experience with a leading European telecommunication provider .It took him less than 2 months to get an excellent job in Canada so hopefully you will also
be through very soon after landing.

Good Luck!
